This policy applies to in-home assembly services arranged by Quality Quest Bikes for customers in Canada and the United States.
Quality Quest Bikes may offer or arrange optional in-home assembly services for bicycles, electric bicycles, electric trikes, accessories, and related products.
Service Availability and Booking
In-home assembly service is subject to technician availability and geographic coverage and may not be available in all cities, regions, provinces, territories, states, or postal/ZIP code areas.
Availability may vary based on the customer's location, product type, technician availability, service platform coverage, and other operational factors.
Customers interested in in-home assembly should contact the Quality Quest Bikes Customer Service team via phone or email to confirm availability and arrange the service.
Quality Quest Bikes does not guarantee that assembly service will be available for every order or destination.
By requesting, scheduling, confirming, or proceeding with an in-home assembly appointment arranged through Quality Quest Bikes, the customer acknowledges that they have reviewed and accepted the terms of this In-Home Assembly Service Policy.
Third-Party Service Providers
In-home assembly services are not performed by employees of Quality Quest Bikes.
Quality Quest Bikes may locate, coordinate, or schedule service providers through third-party service networks or marketplaces, including FixtMan, Thumbtack, or other local service providers.
We seek to work with service providers who represent that they are qualified to perform the requested work and, where applicable, maintain appropriate insurance, licences, certifications, or business credentials.
Third-party technicians operate independently and are responsible for the manner and means by which they perform their services.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, a third-party service provider is not an employee, partner, or agent of Quality Quest Bikes.
Scope of Assembly
The assembly appointment is limited to the work included in the customer's booking.
Depending on the product, this may include:
-
Installation of wheels, handlebars, pedals, seats, baskets, fenders, and accessories;
-
Adjustment of brakes, gears, steering, and tire pressure;
-
Installation of supplied batteries and components; and
-
A basic operational and safety check.
Assembly does not include structural modifications, electrical modifications, unrelated repairs, or installation of incompatible aftermarket components unless specifically agreed to in writing.
The technician may decline work that they reasonably consider unsafe, outside the agreed scope, or beyond their qualifications.
Product Defects and Warranty
Assembly services are separate from the manufacturer's product warranty and do not replace, extend, or modify that warranty.
If the technician identifies damaged, defective, missing, or incompatible components, assembly may be suspended until Quality Quest Bikes or the applicable manufacturer can review the issue.
Manufacturing defects will be handled under the applicable product warranty. Issues resulting from the workmanship of a third-party assembler should be reported promptly so that the service provider can be contacted and given an opportunity to inspect or correct the work.
Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for providing:
-
A safe and reasonably clean work area;
-
Adequate lighting and working space;
-
Access to all boxes, parts, keys, batteries, chargers, manuals, and hardware;
-
An adult aged 18 or older during the appointment; and
-
An environment reasonably free from hazards, including unsecured pets and unsupervised children.
Customers should not ride or operate the product if there are loose components, unusual noises, braking or steering issues, electrical faults, warning codes, or any other indication that the product may be unsafe.
Inspection Following Assembly
Customers should inspect the bicycle or trike following assembly and review its basic operation with the technician where practical.
The customer should verify that visible components such as handlebars, wheels, pedals, seats, baskets, and brakes appear properly installed and secured before use.
Acceptance of the assembly does not waive any rights relating to defects or problems that could not reasonably have been identified at the time of the appointment.
Third-Party Workmanship
Third-party service providers are responsible for their own workmanship, tools, methods, conduct, employees, subcontractors, and compliance with applicable professional and safety requirements.
If a customer believes that property damage, product damage, or injury resulted from the actions or workmanship of a third-party technician, Quality Quest Bikes should be notified promptly.
Quality Quest Bikes will reasonably assist the customer in identifying and communicating with the applicable service provider but does not guarantee that a claim will be accepted by the technician, service platform, or insurer.
Property Damage and Working Conditions
Customers should notify the technician of fragile flooring, furniture, walls, fixtures, restricted access, or other conditions that could reasonably be affected during assembly.
Quality Quest Bikes is not responsible for pre-existing damage or damage caused by unsafe, unsuitable, or undisclosed conditions at the customer's property, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Product Operation
Unless specifically included in the service, the technician is not responsible for providing riding instruction or determining whether the product is appropriate for a particular rider.
Customers remain responsible for:
-
Reading the owner's manual;
-
Understanding the product's controls;
-
Using appropriate safety equipment;
-
Complying with applicable traffic, bicycle, and e-bike laws;
-
Confirming suitability for the intended rider and use; and
-
Performing ongoing inspection and maintenance.
Assembly of a product does not constitute a representation that it is appropriate for every rider, terrain, purpose, or jurisdiction.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable federal, provincial, territorial, state, and local law in Canada and the United States, Quality Quest Bikes will not be liable for losses, damage, or injuries caused solely by the independent acts, omissions, negligence, misconduct, or workmanship of a third-party service provider.
Where permitted by law, Quality Quest Bikes will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential losses arising from an assembly service.
Where liability relating specifically to the arrangement of an assembly service may legally be limited, Quality Quest Bikes' liability will be limited to the amount paid to Quality Quest Bikes for the affected assembly service.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, waive, restrict, or limit any consumer right, statutory warranty, legal remedy, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable Canadian or United States law.
Reporting an Assembly Issue
If there is a concern with the assembly, the customer should stop using the product where continued operation may be unsafe and contact Quality Quest Bikes promptly.
Customers may be asked to provide:
-
Order number;
-
Description of the issue;
-
Photos or videos;
-
Technician or appointment information; and
-
Any relevant service documentation.
Quality Quest Bikes may ask the original service provider to inspect or correct the work before another technician is engaged.
Governing Consumer Rights
This policy is intended to apply to customers in both Canada and the United States.
Consumer protection laws vary by province, territory, state, and locality. Accordingly, this policy applies only to the extent permitted by the laws applicable to the customer's transaction and location.
If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory consumer protection law or other non-waivable legal right, the applicable law will prevail and the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted.
Relationship to Other Policies
This In-Home Assembly Service Policy supplements the Quality Quest Bikes Terms of Service, Return Policy, Shipping Policy, and applicable manufacturer warranty.
Where there is a conflict between this policy and a mandatory legal requirement, the mandatory legal requirement will govern.
